Lavery Law represents a wide variety of employees in labor related matters. This representation includes the negotiation and arbitration of collective bargaining agreements, grievance arbitration, and proceedings before both state and federal administrative agencies. We provide regular counsel to our clients when labor issues arise so as to best position them to formally resolve and, if necessary, successfully litigate, their labor disputes.
We defend employers in all aspects of employment litigation. We are experienced in plant closing, wage and hour, Title VII discrimination claims base on race, color, religion, sex or national origin, and similar litigation. Our attorneys have defended employers in opt-in class actions in federal court. We are also called upon to defend claims involving constitutional torts, including Section 1983 claims. We regularly litigate workers’ compensation retaliation cases.
Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 provides protection for employees from discrimination based upon race, color, religion, sex and national origin. Further developments in civil rights and amendments to the Act give protection from discrimination base upon gender, age, and disability.
